SCS News Revisions in Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Laws It appears that the Oklahoma Court System has finally made changes to the archaic law that gives a vehicle to your right on an unpaved county road the right-of-way to traffic on a paved road if there are no stop or yield signs on the unpaved county road. If you will review Title 47§11-401 on the Oklahoma Supreme Court Network effective November 1st, 2003 it appears that vehicles traveling on a paved road have the right-of-way to approaching vehicles on an unpaved county road. There appears to be some additional changes in this Section which might be beneficial to us all in our accident investigation. To access their Web Site please go to www.oscn.net. What Next? This is our latest edition of a newsletter that we plan to run periodically. Getting the WEB page running was a first priority so we really did not have a great deal of time for articles. If you have suggestions for subjects or material, let us hear from you!! Next issue will feature an article written by our lead casualty adjuster on the always difficult [sometimes enigmatic] state of UM claims handling in Oklahoma. We do have a special program for one of our clients where we handled only UM claims for them and one of their staff adjusters handled the liability claim arising from the same accident. Help, Need Ideas!! We can also use some help with our links section. We assembled links that we felt adjusters and other claim professionals can use and benefit from. Please use the tab marked Contact Us in this web site to give any suggestions on future articles!! Smith Claim
